Board Certification is a mark of excellence and a distinguishing accomplishment for all attorneys who achieve it. Board Certification indicates that an attorney has substantial, relevant experience, knowledge, skill and proficiency in a select field of law as demonstrated through testing, peer review and independent evaluation.
There are nearly 90,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Florida and fewer than 5,000 are Board Certified. Within that group, less than 450 are Board Certified in the field of Real Estate Law. Board Certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys in the 27 areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.
Board Certified lawyers earn the right to publicly represent themselves as a specialist in a select area of the law. This designation sets them apart as being an attorney with the highest, public commitment to excellence in their area of law.
Board Certification is not a one-time event. It requires an ongoing involvement in the specialty area which is periodically substantiated with references from peers in that field. It also requires the Board Certified attorney to meet enhanced continuing legal education requirements in their particularized area of law. It is a commitment made by the attorney to both the law and to the clients.
Michael Bloom is proud to be Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Real Estate law.
